My Favorite Question
My favorite question to ask a company is, “What is your organization’s greatest growth point?”
Their answer is the most vital piece of information I can collect about a company.
First, If I am not at an organization to solve a problem- even if that problem is a high volume of work- then there is no point for me to exist there.
Plus, I want to make sure I am the right person to solve their problems.
I also like this question because I am forcing individuals at the organization to dream.
Problems are not roadblocks; they are invitations. If we are willing to open the door to our challenges, we can develop strategies to grow from them.
Most importantly, I struggle to work with organizations that do not have a growth mindset. If someone cannot identify the issues in their organization, it is either because they are not thinking about ways they can improve, or they don’t want to.
Complacency is the best way to ruin an otherwise successful company.
I invite you to ask yourself and your organization this question. Searching for the answer may be painful, but it is the right thing to do.
In this process, if you identify that it is time to grow your communications and marketing strategy, know that I am ready to be your friend through it.
Happy growing.
